I graduated from the MA Environment &  Society at the Rachel Carson Center in Munich in October 2024. My final thesis, titled "Speculative Storytelling, More-than-Human Artistic Practices and Urban Futures" was based on two months of fieldwork and interviews at the art center Mediamatic in Amsterdam. It is organised under the themes Time, Travel, Eating, and Communication, and weaves together diverse artistic practices all set in the same space.
"The research illustrates that artistic practices make lively cities possible in a variety of ways: They adjust the time of our awareness, make visible, mediate, and potentially balance relations with (feral) guests, confront anxieties, work towards more- than-human autonomy and abundance, facilitate indeterminate encounters, create shared habits and desires and turn them into a celebration. To create possibility conditions for flourishing urban futures, then, it is imperative that artists be allowed to practice a speculative polyphony of What If?."
